13th Annual Holiday Meal Delivery

_x000D_ Conscious Alliance is proud to be hosting our 13th Annual Holiday Meal Delivery! This November, our goal is to distribute over¬†10,000 meals¬†to families in need on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Montana._x000D_ _x000D_ Many people don‚Äôt realize just how economically and geographically isolated these reservations are, how dire the situation is, or how this isolation creates major road blocks for families hoping to gather around a warm and hearty holiday meal._x000D_ _x000D_ 91% of the population in Pine Ridge lives below the federal poverty line. Food insecurity is rampant and many suffer from malnutrition leading to high rates of heart disease, diabetes, and infant mortality. The climate is extreme in this region of the country, with regular winter blizzards and temperatures annually falling to -20¬∞F or lower. As a result, many people are forced to make the very difficult¬†choice between buying food or¬†buying fuel to heat their homes._x000D_ _x000D_ A gift of $30 will provide an entire family with ingredients for a special meal (turkey, potatoes, gravy mix, stuffing, corn, green beans, and soup)!
