The Conscious Alliance Team recently hosted our 12th Annual Holiday Meal Delivery on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Lame Deer, Montana. This year we took a little bit of a different approach to the Holiday Meal Delivery and sponsored programs at each reservation. At Pine Ridge we worked with¬†Yvonne DeCory¬†"Tiny D" and the B.E.A.R. crew, a local youth empowerment group who focus on suicide prevention in the Lakota youth. Tiny D and the B.E.A.R. crew worked with the kids in an after school program at two schools:Wounded Knee School and Isna Wica Owayawa where parents were invited to attend as well. Each family that attended the program was provided with a holiday meal bag.   At Northern Cheyenne we worked with Phillip Whiteman¬†¬†Jr. and Lynette TwoBulls to sponsor their Medicine Wheel Model program. Phillip and Lynette travel across the country to teach their medicine wheel model but were able to do the program down the road from their home for the first time this year. The Medicine Wheel Model focuses on a circular wholistic wellness model. Each family that attended was provided with a holiday meal bag. The Conscious Alliance team would like to thank our volunteers¬†and supporters from Big Gigantic, Madison House, Justin's, and the Fresh Ideas Group who joined us on our trip to Pine Ridge this year!
