It's Garden Time!
Every year we are so excited to literally plant seeds (and starts) of healthy produce for Pine Ridge School and families in need on the Reservation. With only one-full-service grocery store on the Reservation, gardens are a much-needed way to provide healthy nourishment and gardens are great at boosting all-around well-being. Last week, we replanted the Learning Garden with veggies and herbs with the help from Pine Ridge community members and Conscious Alliance member/volunteer Veronica Johnston. The following day, we unloaded pallets of high quality soil that were donated by another member, George Vasilopoulos. The soil will support the school’s gardens as well as our family garden program, which provides raised beds to families in need. Over 150 people are expected to receive food from these gardens this year.
Thank you to all our members and supporters for helping us maintain the flow of healthy food!
