2015: A Milestone Year / Annual Report
Dear Friends,
Looking back on the past year, we can’t help but be inspired by our loyal supporters like you who have been so generous in your dedication to Conscious Alliance. Together we are making a positive impact in people’s lives, nation-wide. 2015 was a year full of meaningful and lasting collaborations, which led to the creation of new fundraising events, increased programming, and heightened media attention. The results were the launch of our ‘Bring Nutrition Home’ Backpack Program on Pine Ridge Reservation (one of the nation’s first all natural backpack programs), the opening of a new Youth Empowerment and Food Sovereignty Center, and the milestone of over 2 million meals distributed since our inception. In 2015, Conscious Alliance was able to allocate $1,302,170 directly to projects assisting the communities we serve, while maintaining our combined fundraising and administrative expenses below 16%.
Through our additional programming and our new facility, we were able to combine hunger relief with nutrition and exercise education. In addition, our strong relationships with other impactful nonprofits, enabled us to support amazing efforts such as The Stronghold Society’s ‘One Gathering Skate for Life’ competition in Denver, Colorado, Yellow Bird Inc’s annual Fort Robinson Outbreak Spiritual Run, and Convoy of Hope’s food relief efforts in South Carolina, to name a few.
Conscious Alliance is truly a strong and committed community. We wouldn’t be able to do the work of reducing hunger across the country and empowering Native and non-Native youth without our strong connections. As part of the Conscious Alliance family, you are an integral part of what we’ve achieved, an indispensable member of the network that connects us all. Your support helps to give food and comfort to the most vulnerable among us. Thank you in advance for your continued support of Conscious Alliance in 2016 and beyond.
