THE ALLIANCE IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK.

It started with a question.
What if fans showed up with something to give?
It all started with three college kids and an idea that wouldn't let go. A food drive outside a String Cheese Incident concert at The Fillmore Auditorium in Denver turned into 4,000 meals in one weekend. And that was only the beginning.

The moment everything came into focus.
Pine Ridge changed how we see everything.
Early on, we built a relationship with Pine Ridge Reservation—one of the most underserved communities in the country. What we found there taught us what it means to show up somewhere the system had forgotten: food, goods, and commitment. All three, every time.
We realized: this is the standard. Not the exception. That framing has guided every distribution, every partnership, every mile since.

Filling more than just the plate.
We realized food was only the first step
For years, we brought meals and winter jackets to Pine Ridge. But as we listened to families, we saw a deeper need for daily household essentials—and knew there were brands out there wanting to give.
We took that mission to the Natural Products Expo, connecting with dozens of game-changing companies. Suddenly, we weren't just collecting single cans at concert gates; we were moving entire pallets of great food and other awesome stuff families need.
That massive leap in sustainability caught the world's attention, making us the first food recovery organization granted 1% for the Planet status.

From one show to a movement.
We went on tour. And never stopped.
What started as food drives at concerts became something bigger. Bands brought us into their communities. Artists started donating their work. Brands wanted in.
Over two decades on the road, we built what most nonprofits don't have: real logistics, a nationwide network, and the infrastructure to move millions of pounds of food exactly where it's needed.
Today, our Hunger Heroes—volunteers, local partners, and community leaders from coast to coast—are the ones who make it happen.

MEET OUR HEROES
Every year, we shine a light on the people behind the work.

MITCH LAYLOCK

DELORES PRICE
Embodying a selfless and welcoming spirit, Dolores opened her property for over a decade to welcome tens of thousands of Electric Forest festival fans to camp on her land. As a vital partner in the Roy Price Memorial Food Drive—named in honor of her late husband—her tireless efforts helped collect and distribute hundreds of thousands of meals to local families across the Rothbury, Michigan community.

2016
MIKE "BANKER" BANK
As a foundational pillar of the organization, Mike donated our very first food collection barrels and transformed his personal warehouse into our primary operations center for a decade. Beyond providing early infrastructure, his nearly two-decade commitment to organizing benefit concerts—including Boulder’s Big Hootenanny—has sustained our movement and provided hundreds of thousands of meals to communities in need.
WHAT DRIVES EVERY MILE.
Rooted in dignity, fueled by loving-kindness.
We believe access to healthy food and everyday essentials shouldn’t be a privilege. Our purpose as an organization is built around three driving principles.
DIGNITY
We believe in reducing barriers and going the extra mile so people have what they need.
PASSION
Our team shows up and believes in the mission, every single day.
METTA
We bring genuine loving-kindness to build a network of care, ensuring people feel seen, valued, and supported.

From major cities to Native Reservations, from college towns to isolated rural communities.
Now serving over half the country.
We don't just show up in the easy places. We go where the need is: remote communities, underserved neighborhoods, disaster zones. Where there’s a need, we find a way.

The humans behind the ALLIANCE.
